Welcome to the Space Freighter gallery. The images here are from an upcoming game suplement about Space Pirates.

Here is a typical In-System Cargo Hauler, it hauls one standardized Cargo container around planetary orbit, to and from transfer stations or other objects in Lunar or LaGrange orbits. Despite the larger Frieghters that move hundreds of containers from Planet to Planet, or between Star Systems, there is a surprising amount of cargo that still has to be delivered to its final destination in a little ship like this.

The workhorse of all In-System Cargo shipping, this hauler is capable of moving three or four standardized cargo containers around planetary orbit, to and from transfer stations or other objects in Lunar or LaGrange orbits. These cargo haulers deliver to lesser space stations, and spaceports too small to handle the bigger commercial freighters.
Here is one of the odder shaped Cargo Haulers in the Galaxy,
this vessel can turn nimbly on its center of gravity. This ship carries
hundreds of standard cargo containers, but at half the length of other ships
its same tonnage it doesn't lumber around spacedock the way other large
freighters do. Since most cargo is moved by dockside cranes or tenders its
unusual shape doesn't hinder it at all in the larger spaceports. These
Hammerhead Transports are never seen far from the central trade routes, many
of the smaller colony worlds only have planetside ports, or very small
orbital facilities making this ship ill suited to service their needs.

This Freighter is of Katar design, the Katar use this armed transport for ferrying Troops, Gear, vehicles, and other supplies all over their colonies and neighboring worlds. Its rugged engineering has made it a favorite of Tauran free-traders who buy surplus units from the Military. There are many variants of this ship's hull, one of the heavier ones is used as a Dropship by Katar Special Forces.
This is an Eldred Armada Heavy Cruiser, they are used all over
Eldred space for a show of force might be necessary, but where too much force
might be provoke the enemy. They are also used in to guard convorys of trade
ships in the heaviest areas of pirate activity. The Heavy Cruiser sports twin
Particle Beams in each Turret, and fixed forward Heavy Rail Cannon everywhere
else. The Heavy Cruiser uses Gravitic Induction Engines.
This
is the Eldred Armada's Light Cruiser, a lighter armed craft with a much
smaller crew compliment. Still used for Convoy Escort duties, the Light
Cruiser is the standard Long Range Patrol craft of the Armada. The Light
Cruiser sports twin Particle Beams in each Turret, and fixed forward Heavy
Rail Cannon everywhere else. This Light Cruiser uses the newer Gravitic
Induction Engines.
This model Cruiser was an intermediate step between the Classic
Light Cruiser, and the modern Light Cruiser. It has many of the same
technologies, but as the initial platform for those technologies it also had
some idiosynchracies. Like the Modern Light Cruiser it sports a twin Particle
Beams in each Turret, and fixed forward Heavy Rail Cannon everywhere else.
Unlike the Classic, this Light Cruiser uses the newer Gravitic Induction
Engines. While the Intermediate Light Cruiser is still in service in some of
the older Fleet detachments, they are quickly being retired in favor of the
new Light Cruiser. a number of these ships have turned up in the hands of
Colony System Defense Forces, Privateers and Pirates.

This is the Classic Light Cruiser, it was the last Light Cruiser to use Particle Acceleration Drives and Fuel Scoops. It sports a single Particle Beam in each Turret, and fixed forward Heavy Rail Cannon everywhere else. While the Classic was retired from service with the Armada many years ago, a number of these ships have turned up in the hands of Colony System Defense Forces, Privateers and Pirates.
