This... Is... Expo, Day 2

So Sunday I run off to Expo, and at the top of the stairs there is this She-Devil sitting on hold, and well you know I just have to take the picture. So begins a very surreal Sunday.

Leaving the she-devil and still pulled along with everyone else trying to get to the convention center I spot this fellow, well really just his hat.

Man wears a hat like that, isn't afraid of anything

I hope this guy is a Firefly fan, and not just some guy wearing a knit cap in Long Beach.

Inside I see this group, later two of these guys would get interviewed by G4.

Inside people were already tired, note this group of Naruto cosplyers down by the Smoothie stand.

Temari's black outfit was different. Most of the Temari costumes I'd see all weekend were white or light purple. The Sakura and Gara cosplayers on the left were not the first Sakura and Gara pair I had seen hanging out together, obviously Sakura has a thing for bad boys.

I came across these two by walking up as they were posing for some other photographers.

I took another photo of them together by the smoothie stand because by the afternoon I had comepltely forgotten everyone I had already shot today. I still never came close to filling the 2GB Flash card.

Another photo op taken advantage of, couldn't tell you who she's supposed to be, but its a good costume, looks like it was a lot of work.

I don't know what mischief this girl was planning, but you can see it in her eyes and in her smile, its going to be good.

Another shot taken a the end of an aisle, that seems the easiest place to get pictures, ends of aisles.

Red Cape, Long Hair, Gold Boots, Gold Claw Arm Gloves, I thought he might have been trying to do the bad guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf. The Three Barrel shotgun was the tip off this was an anime character.

I got this enourmous costume on the second try, the first image was full of people walking in front of the camera...

I have decided that I can burn up the battery, and flash card, so I just start taking pictures, when people see the repeated flashes they get out of the way, whereas asking people to stop just never works.

I've never seen so many guys in uniform at a convention. The amount of tactical body armor worn by fans far outweighed any security on site.

Funimation had a display where ytou could take your pictures with Ed and Al.

This picture was another victim of random people walking in and out of the frame, I took about 4 shots of this guy, and the first one ended up being the least annoying.

Ok, its 2007 and this girl is dressed up as what Sailor Moon's mom or something, I can't remember, though looking at the picture I see she has no feet, must be a ghost.

Ok so people like to do the whole Gothic Lolita French Maid thing, but what's up with the walking around with teddy bears?

Look at those shoes, there were so many platform shoes and Go Go boots at this convention you'd think it was the 60s or 70s.

I'm not certain who she is supposed to be Five Star Stories has some big hats like this, but there is some other series that has the same kind of thing, and I'm betting its the other.

On the train ride back there was a woman complaining that everybody was Kingdom Hearts or Naruto, I submit to her that there were Chobits girls all over the place, Bleach hats on every third guy in the room, including one in a Naruto Jonin's Vest (Bleach Dude Sensei?) I don't have an intentional picture of the Hat to show you, but they were everywhere, and only one guy had the rest of the Bleach costume to go wh it, wooden sandals and all.

This girl was walking with a friend that was shopping so I asked her for a picture, sad girl with enourmous Hello Kitty.

Some kind of racing costume?

The D boys were camped in front of this poster every time I walked by it.

I saw some folks in Renn Faire garb, and I wasn't going to take a picture of any of them, I'd do that at a Renn Faire, but the balloon animal, and baloon sword were just too hard to resist.

I've got no idea, but the teddy bear has a shuriken around his waist, so at least you can throw this one at your enemies.

One of the Final Fantasy boys, there were a lot of them to choose from.

These two were at a booth, she was repacking her con bag, and he was getting something from the dealer. Her costume looked very detailed up close.

So Bandai had this huge sculpture of one of the mechs from Eureka 7, and normally I crop out the folks walking by, but this girl's scary critter just deserved the extra space.

This guy had a very nice set of traditional Samurai armor, a canvas messenger bag, and a cell phone that he was loooking at or tecxting on when I took the picture, I asked him to stay just like that, just like the She-devil at the beginning of the day.

I walked up to this girl as she was having her head cut off by a guy with a chainsaw, she was actually behind me in line at a concessions tand well before that but I try to leave people alone while they are eating.

This girl had a friend holding all her stuff while she posed by the entrance to the dealer's room. Finally when the photographer's abated, she said "are they done bothering you?" obviously a popular character, and the only one I saw with this costume.

The girl from G4 with some of the Kingdom Hearts guys. they reshot and reshot this opening sequence a couple of times while I was there.

Triple Shotgun guy (not the one from earlier) and this other guy were put on great poses for us photographers.

Here we have more Final fantasy guys

Finally a Final Fantasy gal, there were a couple of Final Fantasy girls running around the con, not as many as there were guys with Sword Guns.

This is one of the Bleach Hats I was talking about earlier, they were all over the con, but I only have one good picture out of 177 shots from Saturday.

Here is a guy with a big freaking gun

This was a massive photo op, Cosplayers doing the crew of One Piece? There were crowds of photographers, and people standing around, I must have taken 20 shots just to get this one, mostly it came down to holding the camera as high as I could and pushing the button early and often.

This is suposed to be Villains and Marines. Agains this was taken with spray and pray photography, and even this one had to be rotated 2 degrees to get a good straight look to it.

Seems like this was supposed to be a girl with gun pose, only she didn't have a gun...

I never got another shot of this guy, but I did see him once, it was a pretty good Lion-o costume comeplete with sword of something.

Ok, this is a little bigger than the rest, its Naruot and Master Jirayah.

A very nice costume, great detail work.

As you pass by the Hyatt on the way to the docks you see their little lagoon, and off in the distance you see the ocean. And who did I find on the road of life?

Kakashi Sensei, only I was sitting there a while when he walked up, took a look at the ocean and left.
